This website sets no cookies. There is no analytics, no advertising pixel, no tag manager and no third-party script of any kind. Nothing here follows you, so there is no banner to dismiss.
The page you are reading is a single static document served from Cloudflare. Everything it needs — the typeface, the painting, the mark — is served from this same domain. Nothing is fetched from anywhere else, which is why there is nothing to consent to.
What Cloudflare sees
Serving a page requires receiving a request for it. Cloudflare, which hosts this site, processes the ordinary details of that request — the IP address it came from, the browser that sent it, and the page asked for — in order to deliver the page and to protect the site from attack. This is not done with cookies and is not used to build a profile of you.
What the app stores on your phone
The Written app is not a website and does not use cookies either. It does keep some things on your own device, because it could not work otherwise:
- Your session, in the iOS Keychain, so you are not asked to sign in every time you open the app.
- Tokens for the accounts you have connected, in the Keychain, so a re-distillation does not need you to sign in again.
- A cache of your own data — your distillation, your profile, the state of the garden — so the app can draw something before the network answers.
- Photographs waiting to be uploaded, if you added one while offline.
- A notification token, if you allowed notifications — the address Apple uses to reach that one device.
All of it is removed when you sign out, and all of it is removed when you delete the app.
If this changes
If we ever add analytics or anything that stores information in your browser, this page will say so before it is switched on, and you will be asked where the law requires it.
